The digital content specialist will focus on defining and executing Hebrew SeniorLife’s social media strategy to build the brand awareness and reputation of HSL, its health care offerings and senior living communities, and research and teaching programs. S/he can deliver on the brand and marketing potential of social media channels and will collaborate with the marketing and digital teams to align social media content with lead generation campaigns, email marketing, HSL web sites and HSL blogs. The ideal candidate will be creative, enthusiastic, motivated, and self-directed, with excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
II. Core Competencies:
Expertise in digital media platforms, strategies and best practices; Strong understanding of business application of social media; ability to work in a collaborative team environment with the marketing, development communications and digital teams to develop, implement, and maintain corporate social media and associated digital platforms; possess solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical standards and requirements to various audiences; motivated self-starter that keeps up with new trends and tools and is not afraid of early adoption of solutions; experience reviewing and modifying content to ensure optimization for Web and social networks; ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail; strong verbal and writing skills.

 

III. Position Responsibilities:
Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
Set up and optimize service line pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the service line’s social content
Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community
Front line response to social media issues create by employees, residents or family members. Monitor for isssues, create recommended response plan, and work with Media Relations Manager and Chief Communications Officer to execute response.
Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules
Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
Collaborate with marketing, development communications and the digital team to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions
Maintain clean, well-segmented marketing contact database
Write, edit and proofread editorial and promotional content, maintaining editorial standards, including consistent style and voice
Contribute content for other digital platforms (blog, website, e-newsletters etc.) as part of HSL’s integrated brand and marketing tactical mix
Correct and size images; maintain design standards per brand guidelines
Work with Digital Operations Manager to track monthly digital marketing metrics and distill key performance indicators for management
Ability to present about social media best practices, activities and progress to organizational leadership
IV Qualifications:
2+ years working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist
Proven familiarity with the business applications of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
Familiarity with one or more leading email marketing platforms
Track record of writing for digital media, including but not limited to web copy, blog posts, (landing pages?) and social media posts
Understanding of social media metrics; able to interpret the results and take action to increase effectiveness of social media campaigns
Strong consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, conversion rate optimization and search engine optimization
Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented  with good multitasking and organizational ability
BA/BS in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations
