ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Internal and Corporate Communications Associate will support the Communications department to run day-to-day components of the Company’s internal communications programs on a company-wide, global basis. The Associate works to engage employees across geographies, business functions and levels through the creation of engaging written and visual content for the Company’s global Intranet, newsletter and various other internal communications platforms. Candidate must have superior writing skills and strong attention to detail. Basic knowledge of graphic design is preferred, and SharePoint experience and knowledge of email management platforms are also a plus.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has recently graduated college and is looking to begin their career in communications with a focus on internal communications and employee engagement. Prior internship experience with a corporation or communications/PR firm is highly recommended.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Internal Communications:

Contribute to the development of department’s internal communications strategy
Prepare monthly reports on internal communications analytics
Assist the Corporate Communications colleagues in the development of the internal communications newsletter, including drafting, editing, designing and distributing original content via email management platform
Assist with interviewing employees across the firm for the internal communications newsletter
Draft functional internal communications collateral (e.g., IT, HR, Marketing, Legal and Infrastructure)
Track and manage an internal calendar of external awards
Assist in managing the global Intranet program
Draft original Intranet content and post internal and external news to the Company Intranet
Ensure the content on the Intranet remains current and engaging via weekly schedule of content updates
Serve as the point of contact for inquiries regarding the Company’s Intranet
Liaison with IT team and assist in developing new Intranet pages
Liaison with diverse internal stakeholders (Marketing, IT, HR, business segments, etc.) to identify business/communications goals and translate them into engaging and creative content for the Intranet and internal newsletter
Seek ways to improve engagement and training for employees on the Intranet
Liaison with Marketing for internal communications design
Assist in the development of company event communications, collateral and presentations
Continually research the internal communications landscape and trends to ensure best practices are followed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism (or related degree)
Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
Prior communications internship with corporation or communications/PR firm

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Strong writing skills and superior editing skills
Experience using SharePoint 2010
Practical graphic design experience or strong eye for design
Experience using email management/distribution platform (i.e. Eloqua)
Detail oriented and organized
Ability to pick up on new processes quickly
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Creative and innovative
Ability to think holistically and on a global scale
