© Peanuts WorldwideNeed to bounce PR ideas off a colleague? Itching to test your knowledge of media trivia? Simply yearn to find someone who empathizes with your work week?

The professionals in our community are as eager to connect with you as you are with them. Hone your PR technique with area practitioners; showcase your talents for potential employers. Every chapter gathering, formal or informal, spotlights the diversity of attendees' practices and the market sectors they represent. Gain cross-disciplinary insights by comparing how people at different points on the professional spectrum tackle issues similar to yours. Interact with practitioners from any work setting you can imagine: agency and in-house; academia and government; consumer, B2B and B2C; private sector and not-for-profit.

At the same time, the PRSA Boston community is tailor-made for making and maintaining connections with people in your particular corner of the industry. These Special Interest Groups operate with a degree of autonomy from the chapter, scheduling their own programs or meetings to address matters pertinent to their environment.

With plans for several more themed groups in the works, Boston's current peer networks include:

Counselors Academy -- senior PR practitioners collaborating to problem-solve and brainstorm strategic and wide-ranging issues.

Independent Practitioner's Network -- solo and small PR operations sharing best practices and providing each other with marketing, client service and practice support.

PRSSA -- a bridge between PRSA Boston and students at area colleges and universities, dedicated to enhancing their educational opportunities, broadening their networks and launching their careers.

Young Professionals Network -- a valuable networking and learning avenue for professionals just getting started in their PR careers.
